Portfolio Guilelines
Art-Renner
Spring Semester Final Portfolio
You will present a selection of the work you have completed this semester in art. This includes three (3) components:
1) Evidence of three (3) completed projects from THIS semester
2) A written essay comparing the projects
3) An oral presentation to your class about what you chose
Evidence of the projects means either the physical projects, a re-creation of the original, or a drawing of the project if it is missing. Points will be deducted if the evidence is a POORLY made version of the original.
The written part is a multi-paragraph essay, written to the best of your abilities, to the standards of what you would turn into your English teacher. It will be graded accordingly. Essays MUST be typed. Here’s how you should organize your essay:
¶1: Introduction
¶2: Description of all 3 projects
¶3: Similarities
¶4: Differences
¶5: Conclusion, with assessment of your work
The three projects are completely your choice. One of the projects can be something visual you did in another class beside art that you can compare and contrast with the two art selections.
Each person will make an oral presentation to the class. It should go 5 minutes and cover all the information in the essay in a way that is clear to the class audience. Visual aids are required: this means a show-and-tell of the actual three projects OR a powerpoint OR some other method like video, etc.
IMPORTANT: All students will upload their portfolio to a blog in order to archive their material and receive a final grade.
